BOMBARDIER IGNITION TESTER
Use of Bombardier Ignition Tester
This tester (PN 295 000 008) can verify generating coil (717 engines) and ignition coil of the ignition system
INDICATOR LAMP LIGHTS AT LOWER SETTING This indicates that the output is less than that designed to operate in satisfactory mannerHowever, before coming to the conclusion of faulty condition be certain that correct engine cranking conditions were met before condemning the tested partINDICATOR LAMP DOES NOT LIGHT One component is defectiveProceed as instructed to find defective componentINTERMITTENT IGNITION PROBLEMS In dealing with intermittent problems there is no easy diagnosisFor example, problems that occur only at normal engine operating temperature have to be tested under similar conditionsIn most cases of temperature andor vibration failure, only parts replacement can solve the problem as most of these failures return to normal when engine is not runningMULTIPLE PROBLEMS There is always the possibility of more than one faulty partIf after component has been replaced, the problem still persists, carefully repeat the complete test procedure to find the other faulty partSAFETY PRECAUTIONS
