BATTERY
Troubleshooting
SYMPTOMDISCHARGED OR WEAK BATTERY CAUSE REMEDY Clean and coat with dielectric greaseCheck wiring and connector cleanliness, damaged or short circuitReplace
Cleaning
Clean the battery casing, caps, cables and battery posts using solution of baking soda and waterCAUTIONDo not allow cleaning solution to enter batteryRemove corrosion from battery cable terminals and battery posts using firm wire brushRinse with clear water and dry well-
1Battery posts and or cable terminal oxidized2Loose or bad connections3Faulty battery (sulfated, doesn't keep full charge, damaged casing, loose post)415 amp fuse burnt or faulty rectifier5Faulty battery charging coil (or stator)

Inspection
Visually inspect battery casing for cracks or other possible damageIf casing is damaged, replace battery and thoroughly clean battery tray and close area with water and baking sodaWARNINGShould the battery casing be damaged, wear suitable pair of non-absorbent gloves when removing the battery by handInspect battery posts for security of mountingInspect for cracked or damaged battery caps, replace defective capsWARNINGBattery caps do not have vent holesMake sure that vent line is not obstructed
