CLEANING
NOTEBailer tube fittings and cooling supply fiitting can be removed to ease cl,eaning of impeller housing mating surface
Most silicone can be removed out with scraper such as Snap-On #CS-A12 Remaining sihcone can be removed with steel brush (disc) mounted on drill motor Bombardier stripper #I57295 000 040) can be used to remove remaining siiilicone Carefullly apply on mating surfaces taking care not to extend outside of this area because paint will be damaged Let product dissolve silicone then scrape it Properly clean ail threads Discard all 0-Rings and clean parts in solvent Carefully check water passages (bailer, cooling system) and oil passagesBlow llow pressure compressed air through thernand make sure they are not clogged
54, Shaft
Visually inspect shape of dampers for deformation or other damage Ensure they are firmly retained Inspect needle bearing of seal carrier and its contact surface Check for scoring, pitting, chipping or other evidence of wear With finger tip, feel contact surfaces of bearing and seals If any irregular surface is found, renew drive shaft
