ELECTRICAL 05 (CDICHARGING SYSTEMS)

BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM GENERAL
Magneto
It the primary source of electrical energy It transforms majnetic field into electric current througih three-pole con It outputs Alternating Current (AC) Regulator

Voltage Test
Proceed as follows
- Start engineConnect voltmeter, set on DC volt scale, on battery

- Bnng enqune to approximately 5500 RPM

A jll-wave rectifier receives magneto AC current and trafsforrns it into Direct Current (DCI to allow battery chc qing Battery is the DC source for electric starter, engun? speed limiter and engine overheat beeper
Included in the same unit, regulator keeps voltage at steady level to prevent any damage to components
If voltmeter reads over 15 Volts, regulator is defective Replace it

NOTEWhatever the voltmeter type used (peak voltage or RMS),the voltage must not exceed 15 faulty regulator will allow voltage to exceed 15 as engine speed is increased
