Section 08 PROPULSIONDRIVE SYSTEMS Sub-Section 01 (PROIPULSIONDRIVE SYSTEMS)
Impeller Condition Impeller and boot condition can be quickly checked from underside of the watercraftRemove orate and look through water inlet opemng
Measuring from ventun side

Using long feeler gauge (30 cm 412 in) blades), measure clearance between impeller blade tip and wear ringMeasure each blade at its center Clearance shoud not exceed 00 mm040 in) If clearance is greater, disassemble jet pump and inspect impeller and wear ringRenew worn parts ImpellerlWear Ring Clearance This clearance is critical for jet pump performance Clearance can be checked from water inlet opening, after inlet grate removal, or from venturi side, after ventur nozzle assembly removal, however this may be more difficult

Oil InspectionReplacement
Detach ball joint of steering cable from nozzleRemove four retaining screws from ventun Pull venturi and nozzlle assembly apartRemove the lower plug of housing cover Check oil level, it should be to bottom of plug threadsIf oil level is low, check impeller shaft seal alndor housing cover 0-Ring for leaksIf everything is correct, add proper amount of oil To check oil condition, insert wire through opening then withdraw whitish oil indicates water contamination This may involve defective impeller boot andor urnpeller shaft seal andor 0-Ring of housing cover Jet pump unit shouild be overhauled to repair boot or seal To replace oil, remove housing cover so that oil can drain Thoroughly clean reservoir and inside of cover with solventRe-install1 cover and remove top plug from cover Pour approximately 80 mL I2 on) of oil through top hole until oil flows out from bottom holeUse SEA-DO0 JET PUMP SYNTHETIC OIL293 600 011) only CAUTIONThis is synthetic Do not mix ailwith mineral based oilProperly re-install removed parts
