Flywheel mark
2 Connect an induction-type tachometer to spark plug
wire If marks do not align, scribe new one onto flywheel facing ignition housing mark This new mark becomes the reference when using stroboscopic timing light
3 Start engine and point timing light straight in line with gnition housing timing mark Bring engine to 6000 RPM for brief instant
CAUTIONTiming mark position verification cannot be used as timing procedure, therefore, always check the timing with stroboscopic timing llight at RPM after the marks have been clhecked
NOTEOn this NIPPONDENSO system, timing advance decreases as engine speed increases When marks are aligned at 6000 RPM, spark occurence is still before top dead center
4 Check if flywheel mark (or reference one previously scribed) aligns with ignition housing mark CAUTIONIf engine is be ruin more than few minutes, connect flush kit (PIN 295 0381 properily cooll engineIf timing marks align, timing is correct
