PROPULSION Driveshaft AlignmentAll Models
1Disconnect the NEGATIVE () first, then POSITIVE (+) battery cables from the batteryDO NOT PROCEED WITHOUT PERFORMING STEP 1! 2(MSX 140) Locate the coupler guardLoosen the two screws that secure the guard to the bearing carrierRemove the top screwLift the guard up and remove from engine compartment(Illustration 1) 3(NON MSX Models) Remove coupler guard(Illustration 1)

4Remove the reverse cable and steering cable linkage from the pump(Photo A) Discard all Nylokt nutsRemove the four pump mounting bolts that mount the pump sections to the pump housingRemove the pump sections5(MSX 140) Backup the drive couplers using large pipe wrench or strap wrench and remove the driveshaft using the DRIVESHAFT REMOVALINSTALLATION TOOL, PN PW46593Remove the driveshaft from the watercraftNOTE: Do not damage the drive coupler fingers6(NON MSX Models) Remove the driveshaft from the drive coupler(Photo A)
