ENGINECOOLING SYSTEMS Exhaust Cooling OrificeScreen Cleaning
The exhaust pipe rubber hoses and muffler are cooled by injecting small amount of water injected through an orifice from the main cooling system into the exhaust streamThe orifice and screen should be inspected and cleaned periodically to ensure proper cooling of the exhaust muffler and connector hosesBe sure hoses are not restricted (kinked or collapsed internally)CAUTION: Do not enlarge the orifice or decrease in performance will result1Loosen clamp connecting hose to fitting and remove line2Using deep well 916 socket or flare nut wrench, remove fitting from exhaust manifoldInspect fitting for debris or restriction and clean if necessary3Inspect and clean orifice and screen4Apply pipe thread sealant to threads of fitting and re-installTighten securelyReinstall cooling hoseModel FreedomVirage Virage Genesis MSX 140 (Shown Below) Top of exhaust pipe pipeExhaust Screen Location Orifice Diameter .055 (1 397 mm) 055 (1.397 .090 (2.3 mm) .085 (2.159mm)
