ENGINECOOLING SYSTEMS Engine DisassemblyAll Engines 5Remove flywheel cover boltsTap cover lightly with softfaced hammer and removeRecord the placement of any part(s) that may fall out of the housing when the cover is removedNOTE: On DIt models, both the water jacket cover and flywheel cover are attached with the cover boltsOnce the bolts are removed, both covers will separate from the engine
6Using strap or adjustable wrench to hold coupler, and socket to hold flywheel nut, remove the flywheel nut and washer
7Install flywheel puller on flywheelRemove flywheelWhen flywheel is removed, inspect flywheel key and keyway in flywheel for damageInspect keyway in crankshaft for damageCAUTION: Do not thread the puller bolts into the flywheel more than 38 (.95 cm) or stator damage may resultDo not tighten the flywheel puller against the magnet holder screws or damage to the screws or magnet holder may result
