PROPULSION Stator Assembly
NOTE: Seals, bearings, and o-rings should be replaced if removedHeat the impeller housing evenly with heat gun to ease removal of bearings in next stepRemove tail cone O-ring before applying heat To ease installation, wrap bearings in wax paper and chill in freezer for 30 minutes or longerWarm the impeller housing evenly with heat gun or propane torchDO NOT OVERHEAT1Press or drive bottom bearing into place until it bottoms against the shoulder in the pump housingApply grease to center bearing spacer and installVerify that bearing spacer is centered, and install second bearingCAUTION: Do not drive on the inner raceBearing damage will resultDrive on outer race only2Place impeller spacer onto inner race of front bearing
3Apply marine grease to seal lips and also between the two sealsInstall two new oil seals over impeller spacer with lips up and visible (toward impeller)Press seals to bottom of chamfer on seal bore (about 18 .32 cm beyond end of bore)WARNING: Never allow the impeller spacer to push up through the two seals when inserting the stub shaftIf spacer pushes though seals, the seal lips will be compromised and allow water into bearing housing
