Measure big end oil clearanceNOTE: Do not move crankshaft or connecting rods until measurement process is completed1Remove lower connecting rod caps2Place piece of Plastigauge across the journal surfaceInstall lower rod caps with journal bearings installed3Torque rod bolts to specified torque4Remove caps and measure each compressed piece of Plastigauge 5Reference bearing replacement guide if bearing oil clearance is out of specification
Out of specification: Replace connecting rod bearings
Measure small end inside diameter
Out of specification: Replace connecting rod
