HullControl Systems Top Deck and Hull Gelcoat Repair
WARNING: Eye protection, breathing respirator and appropriate clothing must be used whenever working with gelcoat repair products1Wash damaged area with mild detergent and water2Prep area requiring repair with Sun Prep 155t Wax and Grease RemoverAcetone may be used as substituteWipe area dry with clean cloth before the product driesReapplication of Sun Prep 155t or acetone will be required if streaks appear after drying area3Using 1500 grit automotive sandpaper or 1000 grit wet sandpaper, degloss the repair areaThe deglossed area should extend two to three times the area of the gelcoat damageThis process is only intended to remove the sheen from the affected area and promote gelcoat adhesionNOTE: Damage that extends beneath the glecoat surface must be filled with polyesterbased product prior to applying any gelcoatNever use lacquer or acrylicbased filler product to fill gouges or holes in the top deck or hullThese products will shrink when exposed to extended period of heat and sunlight4After deglossing the repair area, clean area with Sun Prep 155t or acetoneAgain, do not leave any streaks5Tape off repair area with masking tapeIt is recommended to roll the tape as illustrated in the pictureThis will blend the repair area with the entire area without leaving sharp repair lines6Cover ALL areas not requiring repair with lintfree automotive paperLINT-FREE AUTOMOTIVE PAPER
