1Check for smooth throttle opening and closing in all handlebar positionsThrottle operation should be smooth and lever must return freely without binding2Inspect cable for proper routing, kinks, or damage3Inspect both ends of cable and replace if frayed, kinked or damaged

Throttle Cable Adjustment
1On models equipped with inline adjusters, loosen the lock nut2Turn the adjuster in (clockwise) to increase the amount of throttle lever freeplayTurn the adjuster out (counterclockwise) to decrease the amount of freeplay3Tighten locknut securely when adjustment is complete4Start engine and turn handlebars to left and right through entire turning rangeIf engine RPM increases re-check cable condition, routing, and lever free play, and correct or adjust as necessaryCAUTION: Never operate the engine for more than 15 seconds without cooling waterSevere engine damage may occur from overheatingThrottle Cable Adjuster
