Fuel Injection System FFIt DiagnosticsStatic TestsContinued Testing Ignition System
NOTE: Do not start the engine during any static testDoing so will cause erratic operation until you shut off the engineType and press the ENTER key to test the ignition systemThe computer will now prompt you to install spark checker onto the high tension leadsAfter installing the spark checker, press any key to advance to the next screenIf spark checker is not available, timing light may be substitutedKeep high tension leads on spark plugs and connect timing light to leadThe light will flash when electricity passes through leadDo not look directly at timing light or eye damage may occurThe computer will next display screen that allows you to enter the number of the cylinder you want to fireType the number of the ignition you want to fireThe next screen (not shown) tells you which cylinder is firing and how long it will continue to fireThe ignition will fire approximately once second for secondsUse the spark checker to observe the sparkThe screen counts down the amount of time to the end of the testIf you press any key, the ignition will stop firing immediatelyThe screen changes back to the previous screen when the ignition stops firingWhen you are finished testing ignition, press the or ESCAPE key to return to the Static Test MenuNOTE: #1 Ignition: MAG #2 Ignition: CTR (Virage TXi and Genesis i) #3 Ignition: PTO
