CarburetionExhaust Carburetor Cleaning
1Thoroughly clean aU passages with carburetor cleaner or electrical contact cleanerJ;WARNING Wear eye protection when using compressed air or chemical spray cleanersIf you get cleaner in your eyes or if you swallow cleaner, see your doctor immediatelySome carburetor cleaners are extremely caustic and extended periods of soaking can loosen the adhesive sealer on passage drill-way plugsDo not soak rubber or plastic components (such as diaphragms, needle seat screen, or O-Rings) in caustic cleaning solutionsIrreparable damage will occurDo not use agitator type carburetor cleaning equipmentRubber parts must be cleaned with mild detergent and hot water only2If the carburetor is extremely dirty or contaminated with fuel residue and varnish, soak for short periods only in carburetor cleaner, and rinse in hot water3Replace the jets if they are extremely dirty or have buildup of fuel residue, corrosion, or fungusEven small amount of foreign material will reduce the flow characteristics of jet4Verify all passages and jets are unobstructed by spraying electrical contact cleaner through the passages
