Maintenance Final DrivePropulsion Sacrificial Anode
A zinc sacrificial anode is in place on all models on the pump housingThe purpose of these anodes is to prevent corrosion of metal parts due to electrolysisThe mounting surfaces must be clean and the mounting bolt tight to maintain good connection between the pump and anode12Periodically inspect anode for excessive wearCheck bolt to be sure it is tightIf the bolt is loose, remove anode and clean mounting surfaces on pump and anodeApply dielectric grease to bolt threads and contact surfacesTighten bolt securelyZinc AnodeNOTE: Replace sacrificial anode whenever surface erosion is present, or whenever anode looses contact with mounting boltWARNING: Once anode looses contact with mounting bolt, severe corrosion of the pump assembly will occur
