The cylinder mounting studs on Polaris engines are used to secure crankcase halves along with the crankcase bolts Cylinder base nuts must be temporarily installed and torqued to maintain even pressure on the crankcase sealing surfaces during top end assemblyDo not allow crankcase sealer to cure before torquing base nuts or assem bl ing the top endBe sure all top end parts are clean, inspected, and ready for assem bly prior to assem bl ing engine lower endImproper crankshaft main bearing clearance may result if sealer driescausing prem ature engine wearBe sure to follow the Crankcase Assembly procedure below when assembling crankcases 1Clean crankshaft and Premium Cycle Oillubricate with Polaris
