1Check for smooth throttle opening and closing in all handlebar positions Throttle operation should be smooth and lever must return freely without binding2Inspect cable for proper routingkinks, or damage
3Inspect both ends of cable and replace if frayed, kinked or damaged

Adjustments are made by turning the lock nuts at the carburetor and then fine tuning at the throttle block adjuster bolt1Set idle speed to specifications adjustment, page 2.24See idle speed
2Measure throttle lever free play between lever block and lever as shown in III13To adjust, loosen lock nut on upper throttle cable adjusterTurn adjuster in (clockwise) to increase or out (counterclockwise) to decrease free play4Tighten lock nut securely when adjustment is complete5Start engine and turn handlebars to left and right through entire turning rangeIf engine RPM increases re-check cable conditionroutingand lever free play, and correct or adjust as necessary
