FFI TM FUEL INJECTION Diagnostic Guide
ENGINE STARTS AND DIES
SYSTEMCOMPONENT Fuel System CAUSES Poor quality or spoiled fuel or water in fuel Restricted or leaking fuel delivery systern Kinked fuel line EMMIntermittent signal to injector(s) ACTIONS Check fuelwater separator for waterSubstitute known good fuelCheck for damaged fuel lines or poor connections that leak airInspect all fuel line routingsMonitor injector signal using timing light while cranking or use FFI TM Diagnostics Software to activate InjectorsSee Action StepsFuel SystemReplace as necessary tight connection doesn't mean good connectioncheck using an ohmmeter or disassemble and inspect Multiple firing will cause engine to die as it acceleratesverify using timing light Use FFI TM Diagnostic Software to verify Inspect and replace if necessary Disconnect one injectorMore voltage should be supplied to the other two injectorsuse ohmmeter to test stator if voltage is low(20 volts to all injectors while engine is cranking Inspect and replace if necessary See Engine section
