Inspect cylinder head for warpingReplace cylinder head if warp exceeds service limitRemove head gasket"EX"
When reassembling, the gasket must be positioned with "EX" towards exhaust manifoldthe word "UP" must be readableRemoval of the studs, intake base, and gasket is not required unless necessary for carburetor repair or inspection of the gaskets
