ENGINECOOLING Engine Removal 22 Disconnect throttle and choke cables at carburetors23Disconnect cooling water hoses from engine24Remove jet pump and driveshaft assembly25 If engine will be completely disassembledremove drive coupler form crankshaft before loosening (4) engine mount nuts26Remove PTO spark plugFind Top Dead Center of this piston Engine Drive Coupler Removal Tool has split knurling (solid knurling is impeller tool)

Engine Coupler

27Turn coupler clockwise (as viewed from rear of craft) until piston is approximately 1" (25.4mm) before Top Dead CenterNOTE: Estimate piston position using screwdriver or similar probe through plug hole28Remove screwdriver or probe and insert approximately ft(30cm of 516" nylon rope through spark plug holeUsing coupler tool or large wrench on flats of coupler, turn crankshaft counter clockwise until rope strapped between piston and cylinder headWith crankshaft locked in positionremove coupler by turning counter clockwise (as viewed from the rear)Do not use impact tools for coupler removalDamage may occur to the coupler or tool
