ENGINECOOLING Cylinder HoningPro 785 The Ni-Ca-Sil cylinders used on the Pro785 can be honed to remove light deposits or scuffing if the proper stone is used"Soft" stones like those used to hone aluminum cylinders are recommendedFollow normal honing procedures and use honing oil

Honing Procedure
1 Wash cylinder with solventClamp cylinder in soft jawed vise by screwing bolts into exhaust bolt holes2Place hone in cylinder and tighten stone adjusting knob until stone contacts the cylinder walls (DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN)Using 12" (13 mm) drill motor rotating at speed of 300-500 RPM, run the hone in and out of the cylinder rapidlyRemember to keep the hone drive shaft centered to prevent edge loading and always bring the stone approximately 12(1.3 cm) beyond the bore at the end of each strokeRelease the hone at regular intervals to inspect the bore surface
