ENGINECOOLING AssemblyPro 785 Crankshaft Installation
1 Grease oil pump drive gear and seal lips of crankshaft seals with Polaris Low Temp or All Season GreaseInstall Mag end seal and inner PTa end seal on crankshaft as shownNOTE: The metal sides of the PTa end seals face each otherThe innermost seal has an outer rib to fit into the groove in the crankcaseThe spring on the Magneto end seal faces inward toward the crankshaft
2 Grease and install a-ring on shaft, followed by sleeveInstall sleeve carefully to be sure spring stays in position on seal lip during installation3 Install crankshaft in upper crankcaseMake sure bearing anti-rotation pins are in correct position in case slots, and seals are properly positioned Nicks, burrs, or excessive sealer may affect main bearing fitInspect sealing surfaces of crankcase halves carefully to be sure they are free of nicks or burrsApply only thin coat of sealer to both crankcase mating surfaces
