ENGINECOOLING Engine RemovalPolaris Engines Engine Removal
Refer to illustration on page 4.9 (700) or 4.10 (1050) during engine removalTwin cylinder engine procedures are shown in this sectionThree cylinder procedures are similar and differences are noted where applicable1 Turn off fuel valve2Remove seatApply masking tape or duct tape around seat opening to protect hull from scratches during engine lifting procedures
3 Loosen bolt and remove air intake silencer assembly4Remove spark plug high tension leads from spark plugs5Remove two straps securing exhaust water box6Loosen battery hold down straps and remove electrical box coverDisconnect stator wires and temperature sender wire from terminal boardRemove harness grommet bracket and pull harness out of electrical boxMove electrical box out of the way to complete battery ground (-) cable removal7Disconnect battery ground (-) cable from rear of engine crankcase
