THERMOMETER
Heat the coolant (1:l mixture) with an electric heating ek?mentSuspend the ECT sensor in heated coolant and check the continuity through the sensor as the coolant heats upSoak the ECT sensor in coolant up to its threads with at least 40 (I in) from the bottom of .57 the pan to the bottom of the sensorKeep temperature constant for minutes before testingA sudden change of temperature will result in incorrect readingsDo not let the thermometer or ECT sensor touch the pan
Replace the ECT sensor if it is out of specificationsInstall the ECT sensor (page 8-82)
EOT SENSOR
REMOVALIINSTALLATION
Remove the left side panel (page 3-7)Remove the ECT sensor while the engine is cold Always replace sealing washer with new one
Disconnect the EOT sensor 2P (Black) connectorRemove the EOT sensor from the crankcaseReplace the sealing washerTighten the EOT sensor to the specified torqueTORQUE: 15 N-m (1.5 kgf-m, 11 Ibf-ft) Connect the EOT sensor 2P (Black) connectorInstall the left side panel (page 3-7)
