FUEL SYSTEM (Programmed Fuel Injection) DTC 25-1 (KNOCK SENSOR)
Before starting the troubleshooting, check the following and recheck the DTC:knock sensor connector for loose contacts or corroded terminalsECM 33P (Gray) connector green terminal (shield ground) for loose contacts or corroded terminals
1Knock Sensor System Inspection
Reset the diagnostic memory in the ECM (page 8-17)Start the engine according to the flushing procedure and hold the engine speed above 2,500 rpm for seconds or moreCheck the knock sensor with the HDS
Is DTC 25-1 indicated?
- GOTOSTEP2Intermittent failureLoose or poorly connected knock sensor connector
2Knock Sensor Line Short Circuit Inspection
Pull the safety lanyard lock clip off of the engine stop switchDisconnect the knock sensor 1P (Brown) connectorDisconnect the ECM 33P (Gray) connectorCheck for continuity between the knock sensor 1P connector terminal and ground
