FUEL SYSTEM (Proqrammed Fuel Injection) MIL Blink Pattern If the HDS pocket tester is not available, DTC can be read from the ECM memory by the MIL blink ARXI 500 T3D shown: WARNING LIGHT patternThe number of MIL blinks is the equivalent the main code of the DTC (the sub code cannot be displayed by the MIL)With the engine stop switch is inserted, the MIL will blink the current DTC by following the DTC readout procedure (When reading current DTC by MIL; page 8-16), in case the ECM detects the problem at presentThe MIL has two types of blinks, long blink and short blinkThe long blinking lasts for 1.3 seconds, the short blinking lasts for 0.5 secondsOne lonq blink is the equivalent of ten short blinksFor example, when two long blinks arefollowed by five short blinks, the MIL is 25 (two long blinks20 blinks, plus five short blinks)MIL Check Insert the safety lanyard lock clip in engine stop switch, the warning light and MIL will stay on for few seconds, then go offIf the MIL does not come on, inspect the MIL circuit (page 19-17)CURRENT DTCJFREEZE DTC The DTC is indicated in ways according to the failure statusIn case the ECM detects the problem at present, the MIL will come on and the MIL will start blinking as its DTC by following the DTC readout procedure (When reading current DTC by MIL; page 8-16) when the engine stop switch is insertedIt is possible to readout the MIL blink pattern as the current DTCIn case the ECM does not detect any problem at present but has problem stored in its memory, the MIL will not light and blinkIf it is necessary to retrieve the past problem, readout the freeze DTC by following the DTC readout procedure (page 8-15)
