When the engine stop switch is pulled "ON", the ECM operates the step motorThe slide valve moves to its initial positionYou should be able to hear when the step motor operatesWhen the engine is started; during warm up:
When starting the engine, the ideal amount of air flows into the engine via the bypass circuitDuring warm up, ECM regulates the amount of incoming air by controlling the slide valve on the motor, depending upon the input signal from EOT sensor
At idle; after warm up
When the engine is warmed up, ECM moves the slide valve to the narrowly opened position by controlling the step motorIf the ECM detects abnormal engine speed, it corrects and maintains stable engine idle speed by regulating the amount of air passing through the bypass circuit by controlling the slide valve on the step motorSLIDE VALVE
