FUEL SYSTEM (Programmed Fuel Injection) MIL 25 BLINKS (KNOCK SENSOR) Before starting the troubleshooting, check the knock sensor connector for loose contacts or corroded terminals, and recheck if the MIL is blinking1Knock Sensor Connection Inspection Reset the self-diagnosis memory data (page 811)Start the engine and hold the engine speed above 2,500 rpm for 10 seconds or moreCheck the MIL and PGM-FI indicatorIs the MIL blinking? YES NO GO TO STEP Temporary failureWARNING LIGHT
MIL 2Knock Sensor Short Circuit Inspection Pull the safety lanyard clip off of the engine stop switchDisconnect the ECM 26P black connectorDisconnect the knock sensor 1P black connectorCheck for continuity between the knock sensor 1P connector terminal and groundIs there continuity? YES NO Short circuit in the Redblue wire GO TO STEP 3
