MAINTENANCE To prevent damaging the iridium coating of the center electrode, use wire type feeler gauge to check the spark plug gapDo not adjust the spark plug gapIf the gap is out of specification, replace the plug with new one
Measure the spark plug between the center and side electrodes with wire-type feeler gaugeMake sure the 1.0 mm (0.04 in) wire-type feeler gauge cannot be inserted into the gap

If the gauge can be inserted into the gap, replace the plug with new oneScrew the spark plug in the cylinder head by hand to prevent cross-threadingTighten the spark plug to the specified torqueTORQUE: 12 Nm (1.2 kgfm, lbfft) Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal Before installing the ignition coil, clean the plug hole (coil seating area) and sealing rubber on the ignition coil, and make sure the sealing rubber is in good condition Do not allow water into the ignition coil connectors
