OVERHEAT WARNING LAMP
The watercraft incorporates fail-safe function in the event that the engine overheatsIf the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor detects an engine temperature above 85!C (185!F), the fail-safe function allows the engine to continue to operateHowever, if the manifold surface temperature (MST) switch andor the ECT sensor detects an engine temperature above 95!C (203!F), the fail-safe function stops the engine
ECT SENSOR OPERATION
1If the ECT sensor detects an engine temperature above 85!C (185!F), the engine control module (ECM) will limit the engine speed to 3,000 rpm to prevent engine damageFailure code #47 will be stored in the ECM2If the ECT sensor detects an engine temperature above 95!C (203!F), the ECM stops the engineFailure code #47 will be stored in the ECMECT SENSOR
