RECOIL STARTER

ASSEMBLY
1) Hook the outer end of the starter-spring onto the retainer-hook attached to the starter-case, and install the spring onto the starter case by winding it counterclockwiseNOTE: _
1Apply Yamaha marine grease to the inner surface of the starter case2Each new starter-spring is bound by steel hoopTo install, hook its outer end onto the retainer-hook firstput it into the starter caseand then remove steel hoop
2) Insert the rope through the rope-holes, and knot the ends3) Wind the rope 1-12 turns on to the sheave drum 4) Place the rope at the cutaway5) Position the inner end of the starter-spring on the retainer-hook of the sheave-drum 6) Wind-up the spring turns counterclockwise with the starter-rope1) Pass the starter-rope through the cut8) Install the drive pawl and return spring onto the sheave drum9) Fit the friction spring over the friction plate (boss), and install the friction plate on the starter-case bossNOTE: _
