Bracket unit
Removing the power tilt unit
1Fully tilt the outboard motor up, and then support it with the tilt stop lever
5Remove the E-clip 0, shaft A, and collar B, and then remove the upper end of the tilt rod from the swivel bracket6Remove the power tilt unit C, and then remove the collar D

After tilting up the outboard motor, be sure to support it with the tilt stop leverOtherwise, the outboard motor could suddenly lower if the power tilt unit should lose fluid pressureNOTE: If the power tilt unit does not operate, open the manual valve by turning it counterclockwise, and then tilt the outboard motor up manually2Remove the plastic tie from the clamp bracket 2, and then pull out the power tilt motor lead 3
