Drive shaft and lower case NOTE: When installing the pinion, lift up the drive shaft slightly and align the gear and shaft splines Be sure to select the pinion shim(s) if replacing the thrust bearing or lower caseTo select the shims, see "Shimming" (620)5Tighten the pinion nut to the specified torque2Install the washer and propeller shaft housing assembly into the lower case, and then tighten the bolts to the specified torque4
