1Insert the spring into the propeller shaft2Install the dog clutch 2, cross pin 3, and cross pin ring 4NOTE: Install the dog clutch with the "F" mark facing toward the forward gear3Install the shift plunger 5

Checking the propeller shaft housing
1Clean the propeller shaft housing, and then check itReplace if cracked or damaged2Check the teeth and dogs of the reverse gearReplace the reverse gear if cracked or worn3Check the bearingsReplace the bearings if pitted or if there is rumbling
