Cylinder block NOTE: Make sure that the projections of the connecting rod face towards the flywheel magnet side of the crankshaft4Tighten the connecting rod cap bolts to the specified torques in stages Checking the crankshaft journal oil clearance
1Clean the main bearings, crankshaft journals, and bearing portions of the crankcase and cylinder block2Place the cylinder block upside down on bench3Install half of the main bearings and the crankshaft into the cylinder block 3
NOTE: Do not turn the connecting rod until the crankpin oil clearance measurement has been completedConnecting rod cap bolt: 1st: Nm (0.6 kgfm, 4.4 ftlb) 2nd: 12 Nm (1.2 kgfm, 8.9 ftlb)
