1Remove the water pump assembly2Set the gearshift to the neutral position
NOTE: Install the dial gauge so that the plunger contacts the mark on the backlash indicatorShift rod push arm: YB-06052 3Install the special service tool so that it pushes against the propeller shaftBacklash indicator gauge 3: YB-06265 Magnetic plate 4: YB-07003 Dial gauge 5: YU-03097 Magnet flexible stand 6: YU-34481 6Slowly turn the drive shaft clockwise and counterclockwise and measure the backlash when the drive shaft stops in each directionForward gear backlash: 0.210.44 mm (0.0080.017 in)
