Sheave drum Check the sheave drum for cracks, chips or other defects and replace as required ASSEMBLY Starter spring Hook the outer end of the starter spring onto the spring pin attached to the starter case and install the spring into the starter case by winding it counterclockwiseNew starter springs come held in steel hoopTo install, hook the outer end onto the spring pin first, place into the starter case, apply Yamaha all-purpose grease, PIN LUBGREAS-13-00, to the inner surface of the starter case and then remove the steel hoop
