Remove the tilt bolt and remove the carrying handle torsion springs, bushings and tilt lever6Remove the tilt lock rod on the reverse lock shaft7Remove the circlip with slotted head screwdriver, and remove the tilt lock rods and tilt leverINSPECTION, CLEANING, AND REPAIR Wash all parts in solvent and blow them dry with compressed airShift handle and shift mechanism Check the shift handle, shift rod, levers, bushing and leaf spring for wear and salt depositsApply grease or replace parts as requiredSteering handle Check the inner surface of the steering handle for wear or damageCheck the knee gear for wear or damageApply grease or replace as requiredBottom cowling 1Check the smooth movement of clamp leversApp Iy grease as requ ired2Check the bottom cowling for cracks or damageReplace it if damagedExhaust manifold and protector 1Check the exhaust manifold for carbon accumulation and salt depositsRemove the carbon and salt deposits as requ ired2Check the protector and seal for damage and salt depositsReplace the parts if damagedUpper case and mount rubber 1Check the mount rubbers for damage and wearReplace parts if damagedMake loop (about 10 cm (0.4 in) in diameter) of wire, and as shown, stretch it, then hook it onto the springBy pulling the wire, remove the spring from the tilt lock plate (inner)Using slotted-head screwdriver, remove the circlip, and remove the tilt lock shaftNext, remove the tilt lock plates (inner and outer) and shallow water drive lever from the swivel bracket
