2Before mounting the starter motor, make sure the battery wires are removed from the battery3Secure the starter motor to the engine with four starter motor mounting bolts
Starter relay 1Checking the starter switch coil Check continuity between the brown and black lead wires coming from the starter relayContinuity normal Nocontinuity Defective 2Checking the operation of the starter relay contacts 1) Connect tester or lamp between the starter relay terminals2) Connect the brown lead wire of the starter relay to the positive (+) terminal of 12-V battery, and connect the black lead wire to the negative (-) terminal
4Connect the positive and negative wires
