6 Make loop (about 10 cm (0.4 in) in diameter) of wire, and as shown, stretch it, then hook it onto the springBy pulling the wire, remove the spring from the tilt lock plate
INSPECTION, CLEANING, AND REPAIR Wash all parts in detergent and blow them dry with compressed airTop cowling clamp lever and throttle control shaftCheck the top cowling clamp lever, clamp arm, throttle control shaft, throttle control arm, and bushings for wear and salt depositsApply grease or replace parts as required

Remove the circlip, remove the pin from the swivel bracket, and remove the link
Bottom cowing Check the bottom cowling for cracks, or damageReplace if damagedShift Handle and Shift Mechanism Check the shift handle, shift rod levers, and bushing for wear and salt depositsApply grease or replace parts as required1Circlip
