Intake silencer, carburetor and fuel filter Refer to page 3-16 Intake manifold and reed valve assembly Remove the nine bolts, and remove the intake manifold and reed valve assembly 2Pull off the thermostat coverNOTE: If the thermostat cover is hard to remove, tap on it with plastic hammerRemove the thermostat and washer from the cylinder head

Handling of the reed valve1Keep away from direct sunlight, which will deteriorate the valve seat rubber2Keep free from sand and moistureEven fine sand can break the reed petals if it goes in between the stoppers and reed petalsStoppers can easily get rusty and should be kept free from moistureThe cylinder can be damaged by rust if it is presentFor these reasons, the reed valve assembly should be stored with care when it is removed
