D Fuel tank Check the fuel hoses for secure connectionD Fuel line (For motor) Drain stale fuel from the lines and fuel filter wh ile avoiding contact of fuel with the motorD Throttle grip Check the throttle grip for smooth operationThe grip should be smooth yet tight enough to stay in position when the hand is releasedIf not, adjust it Test-run (on the test tank)For electric starter model only
o Outboard motor test-run
o Check the recoil starter for proper operationo Check the motor for abnormal noiseso Check to see whether cooling water is spouting out of the pilot holeo Check the motor for quick response and steady idle
D Shift handle Check the shift handle for smooth operation (forward, neutral and reverse)o Check the neutral starting device and neutral throttle opening device for proper operation
Check to see that the 'engine can be started and stopped by operating the main switchMake sure the choke can be operated by operating the choke switchMake sure the engine can be stopped by operating the tether switch
