10-10 REMOTE CONTROL REMOVALINSTALLATION
1Remove the engine cover2Place the tiller handle in the up position with the throttle grip in the idle position3Loosen the locknut and slacken the throttle cable adjustment at the throttle lever4Disconnect the end of the throttle cable from the throttle lever5Remove the screw attaching the throttle reel rod to the throttle grip6Loosen the friction bolt on the throttle friction block7Lower the throttle reel assembly from the tiller handle and disconnect the throttle cable8Remove the throttle cable from the powerhead To install: 9Install the throttle cable into position on the engine case10Lubricate the throttle cable and throttle reel prior to installation11Connect the throttle cable end to the throttle reel and route the cable around the reel12Install the throttle reel assembly into the tiller arm and tighten the friction bolt to hold it in place13Install the screw attaching the throttle reel rod to the throttle grip14Connect the end of the throttle cable to the throttle lever15Adjust the throttle cable tension and tighten the locknut securely16Check for proper throttle operation17Install the engine cover4To 56789Remove the switch from the tiller handleinstall: Install the switch on the tiller handleAs required, install the switch retaining nutlscrew and tighten securelyInstall any wire straps that connect the switch to the tiller handle or bracket Connect the engine stop switch wiring harnessTest the switch for proper operationTESTING
1Disconnect the engine stop switch wiring harness2Connect multimeter between the switch harness leads3With the switch engaged (stop switch lanyard pulled), continuity should existWith the switch released (stop switch lanyard in position), continuity should not exist4If the switch does not function as specified there is short in either the switch or harness and the switch should be replaced5If the switch functions properly, there may be problem in the powerhead wiring harnessREMOVALINSTALLATION
1, Disconnect the emergency stop switch wiring harness2Remove any wire straps that connect the switch to the tiller handle or bracket3Remove any retaining nutslscrews that secure the switch to the tiller handle Some switches are screwed into the end of the tiller handle and simply unscrew from the handleADJUSTMENT
