OIL INJECTION 6-15 oil filter, the integral micro-switch will closeThis will activate the low oil flow and rev limit lights on the monitorThe warning buzzer will sound and the engine speed will automatically decreaseFig27 If the oil flow is restricted or slows down due to an obstruction within the inline oil filter, the integral micro-switch will close
When the oil level reaches predetermined level in the oil tank, the oil level monitor will turn from green to red the switch in the oil tank senses the low oil conditionIf the operator continues to operate the outboard and the oil level drops further, the warning buzzer will begin to sound second intervalsAll the time, the red low oil warning light will onAfter 10 seconds of running, the engine RPM will drop and the revlimit light on the monitor will come on, If for some reason full RPM is needed during low oil condition and the operator does not have oil onboard, the low oil reset button on the engine lower cover can be pressed with the engine runningThis button over-rides the revlimit circuitry, but not the buzzer or lightThe operator may continue to run with the buzzer and light on at wide open throttle for approximately 30 minutesOIL INJECTION WARNING SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART
