1Remove the flywheel2Remove the spark plug3With the contact points set right, now check the ignition timing by using the timing gauge (09931-00112)Remove the spark plug and install this gauge in the spark plug hole as illustratedBring the piston up to TDC and set the indicating hand of the gauge to read zero millimeters4Obtain timing digital rnultimeter, also know as buzz box: (09900-27003)5Disconnect the breaker point leads from the stator base6Connect the positive (red) digital multimeter lead to the black lead of the contact breaker and the negative digital multimeter lead to an engine ground 7Gently turn the flywheel clockwise (with the digital multimeter switch turned ON) until the digital multimeter starts buzzing05005G05
