Before removing the pilot screw, turn it all the way in until it lightly seatsRecord the number of turns needed to turn in the screw for reassemblyRemove the float bowl attaching screws and remove the float bowl 2Always discard the old gasket3Slide the float hinge pin to one side and remove the pin assembly from the carburetor body4Remove the float from the carburetor body5Remove the inlet needle valve from the valve seat6Remove the inlet needle valve seat using the appropriate tool7Remove the pilot (idle) jet from the carburetor body:
8910111213Unscrew and remove the pilot (idle) screw and spring assemblyRemove both high speed nozzlesRemove the main jet holder from each side of the float bowlRemove the main jet from each main jet holder with the appropriate tool Remove and always discard the O-ring on each main jet holderClean and inspect all the internal parts in the carburetorFUEL LEVEL TEST
For this test, you will need to acquire the following Suzuki special tools: Fuel Level Gauge Adaptor (pln 09913-18711) and Fuel Level Gauge (pln 09932-2821 1) 1Remove the engine cover2Connect tachometer to the enaine followina the manufacturers instructions 3Remove the left-hand main jetholder the carburetor float bowl4Remove the main jet and O-ring from the main jet holder5Install the main jet into the special tool adaptor6Install the fuel level gauge into the and install the entire assembly into the carburetor float bowl7Start the engine and let it idleIf necessary, readjust the idle to the speed specified in the "Tune-up Specifications" chart8The heidht of the fuel in the gauae should be as follows: 0.83-0.91 in(21 .O-23.0 mm), 9If the fuel level is not to specification, adjust the fuel level by adjusting the float level tab10Remove the main jet and O-ring from the adaptor11Reinstall the main jet and O-ring onto the main jet holder and install them into the carburetor float bowl12Repeat this procedure with the other carburetors13Remove the tachometerStep 1
