MAINTENANCE 3-5 5After relieving the fuel pressure, remove the service check bolt and replace the 6mm sealing washer with new oneTighten the service check bolt to ftlbs(12 Nm)REMOVALINSTALLATION

Observe all applicable safety precautions when working around fuelWhenever servicing the fuel system, always work in wellventilated areaDo not allow fuel spray or vapors to come in contact with spark or open flameDo not smoke while working around gasolineKeep dry chemical fire extinguisher near the work areaAlways keep fuel in container specifically designed for fuel storage; also, always properly seal fuel containers to avoid the possibilitv of fire or exolosion 05003P15

1Remove the engine cover2Locate the fuel filter in the engine pan3Lift the fuel filter from the engine pan, and place pan or clean rag underneath it to absorb any spilled fuel4 Slide the hose retaining clips off the filter nipple with pair of pliers and disconnect the hoses from the filter5Reinstall the hoses on the filter nipples of the new filterMake sure the embossed arrow on the filter points in the direction of fuel flow6Slide the clips on each hose over the filter nipples7Check the fuel filter installation for leakage by priming the fuel system with the fuel line primer bulb8Once it is confirmed that there is no leakage from the connections, place the filter back to its, Droner osition the enaine Danin 9Replace the engine coverFig6 clogged fuel filter resulted in lean fuel mixture at speed and caused the burn hole in the top of the pistonThis powerhead required complete overhaul
