Before removing lower unit: Disconnect spark plug caps from all spark plugs Disconnect the battery cableLoosen the clutch rod lock nut 1To separate the clutch rod from the shift rod, unscrew the turnbuckle 2Remove six(6) bolts and separate gearcase from driveshaft housing
