separate gearcase from drive shaft housingRemove cotter pin (30), nut (29), washer (28), spacer (27) and propeller (25)Remove bearing carrier (22) retaining screws and attach suitable slide hammer to propeller shaft (16)Using slide hammer, carefully withdraw propeller shaft assembly and bearing carrier (22) from gearcaseRefer to FigSZ714 and WATER PUMP section and remove water pump assemblyLift drive shaft (47-FigSZ7-22) and bearinghousing (39) from gearcaseRemove forward gear (9), shim (8), pinion gear (31), shift rod (54) and collar (42)
